Established in 1961 as the nation’s first department of systems engineering, the Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering (SIE) has been consistently recognized internationally for its innovative contributions to large-scale projects involving human, technological, and informational assets. Department of Mining and Geological Engineering
For the past 120 years, the Department of Mining and Geological Engineering at the University of Arizona has been the state’s sole provider of academic and research programs focused on mineral engineering and the science of non-renewable resources.
