Associate Professor

Dr. Lin has over 10 years of experience in transportation system analysis, traffic operations, and transportation data analysis, and logistics systems. Dr. Lin has published about 40 papers in peer reviewed journals. His research work includes evaluating dynamic traffic simulation and analytical models and their functions in ATMIS applications; examining the benefits of traffic responsive signal coordination strategies in minimizing total system delay, developing computer simulation models capable of capturing moving queues consistent with the hydrodynamic theory of traffic flow and developing models for logistics systems. For the past five years, Dr. Lin bas been involved in a number of research projects in logistics and transportation, including transportation network modeling, traffic data analysis, application of AVL technologies to transit operations, prediction, and estimation of traffic variables and traffic conditions, logistics systems analysis, and traffic safety analysis.
